Nigel Wood       Adult Trainer

Nigel is a qualified adult trainer with responsibilities for the development and delivery of accredited training, support and assessment for projects such as Motiv8 and GOAL aimed at KS3, KS4 and post 16. Nigel also delivers and assesses training for all volunteer mentors working in study support centres city wide – these groups range in age from 13 – 75 years! The Motiv8 and GOAL projects between them draw learners from across the city. Motiv8 works with year 9 pupils who take part in formal training to become coaches and mentors and this is coupled with a practical session of mentoring KS2 pupils supporting them in literacy, numeracy and ICT. This project in turn allows young people to progress to the GOAL project and to be formally accredited for developing skills towards employment, sports coaching and looking at how diet and drugs affect sporting performance.
