Silver Surfers
Residents of Leeds Federated Housing are learning to surf the net in a unique project to help bridge the digital divide and get in touch with the world through computer technology. Groups of five or six residents from each complex are being taught to surf the net and send and receive e-mails in a purpose built ICT learning environment.
The main aim of this project is to promote social and digital inclusion for the 60+ population of LFHA (Leeds Federated Housing Association) by providing access to public services and information through the Internet and helping elderly people to communicate with each other, by using information technology.
